About Kris

A highly specialized physical therapist with over 30 years of experience. Kris Shevlin’s unique approach to healing includes a combination of the science of physical therapy and whole body movement of Pilates in a one to one therapist to client/patient session. By applying Pilates movement principles, she helps her clients strive to create a pain free, longer, leaner, balanced body. Providing a unique physical therapy/pilates experience; Kris strives to empower her clients with the knowledge of the body and the tools to achieve optimal performance in daily life. Kris’s philosophy, “Stand tall, walk tall” stems from her core beliefs and she often uses this phrase when working with patients to heal, strengthen, and improve their posture, stability and flexibility.

 

Kris Shevlin is a licensed Physical Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Columbia University and over 30 years of clinical experience in Physical Therapy, including an Orthopedic/Spine Residency. Kris is Polestar Pilates certified and is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance. Kris is also a partner in the National Osteoporosis Foundation and is a certified Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist (BCES) through the Pink Ribbon Program. She has training in upper extremity MLD for lymphedema through Klose training. She is also now a certified ScolioPilates practitioner. Kris has a private physical therapy practice in East Sacramento. Kris’s unique utilization of Pilates-based exercise methods in the treatment of osteoporosis, scoliosis, and breast cancer patients is an integral part of her practice.
